I voted and I have one beautiful tabby male cat, rescued from the shelter.
I had been a year without a pet, after losing my 2 elderly cats, a 'momma' and her 'granddaughter'. I lost them a year apart. Momma was 20 and the granddaughter was 18. I didn't think I wanted another pet because that was so hard to go through.
But along came my big fun tabby male. I call him my toddler because he is full of fun and curiosity and has a most spontaneous personality!
