The initial paperwork is annoying and alot to fill out, Loads of questions about your daily life .. How your Mental illness/ physical illness effects your daily life and your ability to work and support yourself, etc

Take your time filling this paper work out and be honest. They will also send you to have an exam by there own Doctors.

It can be a long process. I know some people get approved first try , I know some people that have to take it all the way to a court hearing. some people it has taken 2-3 years to get a court hearing , just depends on the back log of cases in your state.

You can apply online or you can go to your local Social Security office and ask for paperwork and information.

Good luck
My counselors have told me they support me getting SSI. I don't have a regular psychiatrist I see, because I'm on state insurance, but I do have proof of illness.
