Normal as in healthy and typical? No. Normal for someone with an eating disorder? Absolutely. If I'm having a bad body image day, it is so hard to resist the urge to cancel all my plans and curl up in bed. I feel guilty, bitter, and worthless.

Something that really helped me was trying to find things that made me feel useful that didn't revolve around my weight or shape. I started paying attention to fashion blogs and magazines so I could dress better, and I spent a bit more time messing with my hair in the morning. I ate an appropriate amount of food while doing more hiking, lifting, and HIIT so I could feel good about my endurance and strength. I studied really hard in school and took more initiative at work so that I could see the tangible results of my increased productivity. It honest-to-God works.
