Default Stigma around Learning Disabilities

So I have a learning disability, and it deals with memory, so I tend to forget things often. But I have dealt with a lot of stigma with having a learning disability, because I can do well when I have accommodations in place. I've been told that I can't have a LD because I'm so smart, and that I'm taking engineering in university that it's not possible that I have a LD. I just hate how I'm told that I can't deal or struggle with this even when I am doing well. I get really frustrated about this.
