I'd be interested to read other members' thoughts with regard to this. A couple of weeks ago my computer sustained a security breach. I have Windows 10 & had presumed Windows Defender would be sufficient to protect it. (I have also always had the free version of Malwarebytes. But it doesn't provide real-time protection.)
In light of the security breach my computer suffered, however, it became apparent Windows Defender is not sufficient. As a result I purchased & installed Malwarebytes Premium. (In looking around the internet & listening to some YouTube videos on security software, it seems Malwarebytes Premium is pretty-much always listed as being one of the best.)
One thing I've always enjoyed doing, here on PC, is downloading & sharing pictures I found on the internet. However, since installing Malwarebytes Premium, each time I've downloaded a picture, a few seconds later, I'll get an alert from Malwarebytes indicating it has blocked some malicious website. (I've read previously that it's not unusual for pictures on the internet to contain hidden malware.)
So, as a result, I've decided that, perhaps, downloading, & sharing internet pictures isn't the best idea. I still have a few older pictures that have been on my computer, as well as in my photo albums here on PC, for quite a long time. So I expect to keep those, barring something unforeseen. But beyond that, I don't see myself downloading any more pictures from the internet. I suppose it's possible Malwarebytes is oversensitive. But, since I made the effort to install it, I feel as though I should heed it's warnings. Still I'll miss sharing pictures from the internet with other PC members.
