What will most likely happen is that you will be required to pay back the benefit for the two months you went over. I had the exact same thing happen to me when I went back to work. I knew I would have to pay it back so I just held onto it and wrote a check when they sent me the bill. They won't kick you off entirely.
I learned this the hard way this week with SSA, GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING.
Also, be very careful the amount isn't $1180, it's actually like $800, but when you get to $1180 is when they kick you off. It's some technical fine print. Be very careful.
