Hi, I'm a cis woman who hates my period. I have used various forms of hormonal birth control that prevent the uterine lining from thickening and therefore eliminate monthly periods. Periods are not necessary and preventing them will not cause any ill effects. There are several options available from oral medications, implants, shots and certain IUDs. All of which are reversible of course. A permanent solution would be an endometrial ablation which is an outpatient procedure that destroys the uterine lining. Anyway, just some ideas to discuss with your doctor
