I'm kind of in the same boat. Tried the gum and patches before and it didn't work. I'm guessing because the nicotine is still going into your system. I only quit cold turkey once and it didn't last. I was pregnant. I cared about my son. I need real reasons to quit. Someone once said to look after myself like I was a mother to myself. That's not helping. I think we need to get in a less stressful place mentally before quitting. Other times I quit I always tapered down to one or two cigs a day. I'm going to try that again soon when my life is settled a bit. Best wishes to you.
The gum and patches didn't work for me either but the lozenges have worked before. You are right about getting in a less stressful place; I can't avoid it right now. I have no idea when the stress will be less. Thankfully I got the 2 mg. lozenges and they seem to be helping now. Not smoking nearly as much. I quit once for 17 years and it was when I didn't have as bad a habit as now. They used to make me feel sick and it was easy to quit at that time. I wish I had never picked them back up but I did and can't change that. Maybe this time will work with the nic. loz.s. I quit with them before for a few years. I quit the nic. loz. too. I wish you all the luck!
