I know how you feel being scared of medication. I have been scared too by horror stories about side effects. For a while I refused to take SNRI's because people scared me about the withdrawals. Finally I started one, and guess what? Sometimes I miss a day and no withdrawal symptoms at all. Someone also scared me about Abilify, so I also don't take that for months. When I took it, I had no side effects, and it helped.
My point is that I know side effects can be scary, but not everyone gets them. I don't google side effects of medications anymore so I don't scare myself.
