I just posted a rant about my neighbors and the noise they are making.
My dog, BG, is terrified of loud noises. I give him melatonin tablets to try to help him stay calm. They help with the noise from thunder, but he is coming out of his skin tonight.
Loud noises don't usually bother my cats, but one of the booms was so loud tonight that they jumped. Even the deaf kitty jumped. I guess she felt it.
Sorry, I kind of got off on a vent about my furbabies. Trying to act normally helps critters. I've heard good things about the Thundercoat, but haven't tried one myself. Sounds like you are doing the same thing with the tight scarf. Keeping all your babies in the house tonight is a very good idea. Keeps them safe.
