You use Windows 10?

If you do use Windows 10 and you aren't running a business from your PC, handling thousands of dollars of financial information, have a bitcoin wallet with a lot of money in bitcoins, or have any type of top secret classified information, than the built in antivirus is generally good enough.

Also, security depends a lot on how you use your system. Don't download files from untrusted sources and don't browse shady sites or do shady things and you should be good.

If you absolutely require a paid antivirus software though for whatever reason, I agree bitdefender is a good choice. Also see if your internet service provider offers premium antivirus. I use cox and I know they offer Mcaffe for free which is a bit better than the windows built in antivirus.
