I am a 35 year old sex addict in the navy. I have been struggling to receive treatment due to troubles with Tricare. My CSAT strongly recommends residential treatment, however with a lack of emperical evidence/research to show that residential treatment center does help with sex addiction (not to mention it not being in the DSM-5), it has been difficult to even receive a necessary waiver to essentially force Tricare to pay for it.

I have addicted to internet sex chat for a long time, I want to stop but cannot. I am married.

I am just so confused about how come Sex Addiction (or it's various names) did not make it into the DSM-5, but other things like Internet Gaming Disorder can?
