Bizi,
I play a large celtic harp. The big harps you see in symphony orchestras are pedal harps, and use pedals to set sharps and flats, and have 47 strings.
Celtic or folk harps use levers at the top of the string to set flats and sharps. They're typically smaller than pedal harps, and the floor harps normally have around 33 strings. But I have a larger than normal floor harp as it has 40 strings. The extra strings were important to me, as it gives me a greater range of bass that I can play, which is important in Latin American music, which is something I play a lot of.
