A friend of mine lives down the street from her parents. Late one night, right after her mom's diagnosis of cancer, her kids were at her parents and they had a fire. Luckly all made it out but she got awakened at 12 AM with that news. After everyone was put to bed and everyone was gone she called me at 2 AM. It was fine it was a weekend. We talked for 2 hours and I comforted her.

When people are sick at work and need leave time I generally contribute leave time to them.
