In my country, I don't think women are allowed to fight in equal areas of the army like men, whereas men can be drafted or sent to fight a war without consenting to fight.
WIC is promoted where I live (or Women, Infants, and Children) which is an exclusive government aid for those specific groups. But it's interesting that it seems to lump women and children into a same category.
Even when I was younger, I watched some Titanic movie where the lifeboats of a sinking ship were accepting "women and children first." Again, they lump women and children into a same category.
I've always wanted to read a women's history book to get a better understanding of women within my country. I might actually read some books from my local library about women suffrage. To understand gender differences within a society, you can review the laws within that society. I honestly feel I should review the federal law of my land as well, to get an understanding of women and men role.
