Do you need a referral or not? I know you need a referral on Medicaid. I want to see an allergist. But with my anxiety I’m not sure how easy it will be to see one if I need a referral. Doctors usually just dismiss my symptoms as anxiety. My former GP got very angry when I saw a kidney doctor. She tried to put a stop to it, but eventually just gave in. My blood tests even showed I was having kidney issues. My psychiatrist flat out refused to give me a referral to a sleep specialist. Even after I ended up in the ER after a night terror. I see better doctors now. And I’m not on Medicaid. So maybe it will be different. But if I don’t need a referral that would be much easier.
