I was always a reader of both fiction and non-fiction. I read voraciously as a child. There was less reading for pleasure as I got older and other priorities and required reading took it's place.
The odd thing is I don't remember leaning to read. My earliest memories go back to about 4 years of age. I could already read by then. Not being literate seems a little alien to me, in that I've never had the (remembered) experience of not being able to read any language at all. It's just always been there for me. I went to the libraries, so I could learn and do on my own. It was comforting in that respect, because too often I did not find people very comforting.
