I think your goal is both admirable and "perfection-impossible". Are you (or anyone) psychologically equipped to pursue something you know you will imperfectly attain?

The "snakes" you've encountered have tried hard not only to silence you but also to put a bit in your mouth and drive you this way and that for their own ends, to build their own egos. Many people might do well to aim at speaking less. Perhaps the opposite might be better for you.
