I think liability is definitely the issue. Doctors have the DEA breathing down their necks and the opiate crisis doesnt help. There are some doctors the will use drug tests to monitor past addict. I dont like that but I suppose if its the only barrier to treatment it may be the way to go. I also know that people that have a past issue with stimulants like meth can struggle with prescription stimulants. Just like a heroin addict would struggle with pain meds. But the option shouldnt be taken off the table just because of that.
