I had one nurse tell the group of us that it was our fault we were in the hospital. She hosted groups for us. People say movies like Girl Interrupted and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest are stereotypes but I've seen a lot of patients and nurses like characters in those movies in the hospital. Obviously, not everyone's experiences are the same but I can relate to those movies with my experiences, as well as books like The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, or the book of the same name, Girl Interrupted by Susanna Kaysen.
