I have always read a lot. I used to read novels, nonfiction, news, etc but beginning in 2016, at least half of what I read is about mental health. This morning, one of the articles I read was: Forgive and Forget Hard? 12 Reasons Why You Can't Move On. I had a lot of shame/depression/anxiety (it still reemerges sometimes). I was effected by some, but not all, of the reasons the article gives for not being able to move on.

However, though the article makes some good points, I think there are some things in this life that people (especially people who have suffered trauma both deserved or undeserved and bad luck) might always feel sad about. It is more like we have to not feel guilty about feeling joy even though there is a part of us that will always feel sad. We can still dream and feel happy even if our life will never be the same again. Just being a survivor able to wake up and smell the coffee is a good thing.
