Finally, my state's dept of health released a statement authorizing nursing homes to have approved visits with their memory care residents and their families. Four months of isolation for memory care residents is a death sentence. Esp. since the assisted living residents were not effected with restrictions and can come and go as they please. This infuriates me.

But tomorrow my other's nursing home is supposed to release a sign-up sheet for memory care residents' families to use online. The healthcare director already knows that if she continues to postpone visitation, I will contact the media to do a story on why she won't allow her memory care residents any visitors. Sometimes, you have to take matters into your own hands to get anywhere.

Hopefully, tomorrow there will be an online sign-up sheet. I understand they will time the visits to 40 minutes but that is unrealistic if they expect speed walking from their residents to the outdoor patio where the visitors are supposed to go (and not through the nursing home building, so logistically it will be a nightmare).
