It can be surprising to learn that you may have it, or to know that your symptoms are judged as more impairing than you would think. People with ADHD learn to cope with their symptoms and tend to assume that their struggles are just a part of who they are, not related to their diagnosis. It could be that you have had ADHD that has been untreated and led to significant challenges in the past. It's worth exploring more to find out if the diagnosis is accurate and if so what the treatment plan might be.
