This check in is for how you are doing with your addiction. Say for example I slipped last night or I've been clean for so many days.

I have been sober for 10 days. Time to stop counting the days I think!

Great Thread. I have been sober since 6/9/12 - rocking steady. Going to some meetings soon for good measure.

From alcohol...since April 15th. From drugs...technically Oct 2010. I smoked with a friend and broke my 9 year streak. From shopping...sometime around end of May, beginning of June.

I'm entering my third sober week. I'm having a manageable time with it. I'm feeling confident and great. Physically, I completely and absolutely do not miss alcohol. My mind just takes me there from time to time.

I am too Moogs. I guess. The day is not the best, but drinking would make it worse. FFD. BB
I am so enjoying my variety of water drinks today.

One way I found AA to have helped me in the past was.... they gave me a plan to use to defend against that 1st drink.

I think I need a plan.maybe I will work on that today.
I forgot, day 2 and doing fine

I have to chair my regular weekly AA meeting tonight and all I want to do is sleep. I like AA but hate having to drag myself to meetings.

Congratulations Sabrina. Keep on doing what you've been doing one day at a time. (Whoops, sorry mods if I wasn't supposed to post a response. Won't do it again and will stay on topic)

From cigarettes about three weeks I guess (although mostly since March, only had one here or there since then). But I've been vaping too low nicotine today and I'm kind of craving one. Time to increase the nicotine in my vape.

I recently wrote a letter to my 16 year old self.
The only real specific advice I had for her was when you quit smoking for those 6 months, don't start again.
The Me of today would appreciate it.
I give you credit for quitting. It is not an easy thing to do.

It's very hard. Even with the vaping I still crave the other chemicals they put in cigarettes.

Well... It's been just over 90 days smoke free of the ganj. Yay me!! ... It has been 20-25 plus years that I have been a habitual smoker...

.. It's also been like 1 1/2 months ...no cigarettes...

Still having some urges for the weed ... Taking it a day at a time... And just trying to change bad habits for good ones

I hope everyone is having a good day. ...Best wishes

I can relate to smoking (cigarettes, that is). I have given up 3 times in my life. The second time was by far the hardest think I had to do. It was much harder than giving up drinking. (For me). Third time I gave up, I was more determined and that was about 9 or 10 years ago. Now I can't tolerate smoking at all. I become ill and claustrophobic. It has gotten so bad that I can't even go for a walk without watching the sidewalk for discarded cigarette butts as I can't step on them. That would cause me to shower for 2 hours and throw my shoes away. Extreme or what?

Good luck to all of you. It sure as heck isn't easy
