The BLT with an egg sandwich was delicious!
It was to come with a side of potatoes or grits, I said no sides.
I left some of the crust behind so am very satisfied....
Jeff enjoyed his Ruebin sandwich too.

Our friends backed out of dinner and said that we need to get together soon.
oh well...that meat loaf still needs to be eaten, maybe we can call paul to see if he would like to come over for a quick dinner?

Jeff has a lot of paper work that needs to be done (he is 2 months behind in doing the check book)and I have busy paper work to do as well....I listen to the grateful dead music cassette tape from years ago....when ever I have to do paperwork that I don't like doing.

Red face Re: Bizi's thread:

Our cat Hattie, had surgery on her back and side today to remove 2 cancerous masses.
WE know this because she had them removed prior to this by another vet a few months ago.
They grew back so this new vet said he thought he got it all. We will see. He took out part of her muscle so it is painful. We have pain meds to give to her. She is wearing the thunder shirt again and is doing well adjusting to being home. Hazel has hissed at her a few times. She has eaten and drank water so that is good. no throw up.This will be the last surgery we will do.
She is only 10 years old. we will just take things as they come.We are hopeful....
just wanted to let you know.

bizi, I'm so sorry your cat needed another surgery. I hope she makes a complete recovery. It's a good thing that she's eating and drinking.

Eating was the first thing she did yesterday. she splayed out on the floor at the food bowl and ate.
Perhaps we should have waited awhile but we did not. It was a while before she drank any water.
Thanks split.

How are you?

I'm doing ok, thanks for asking Bizi. Still have some pain from my fall, but I have a followup at the brain injury clinic next week. I go for a 2nd CT scan of my lungs tomorrow morning, so see if there's any change in the black spot they discovered on the initial scan.

And today is 6 months sober. Really happy about that.

From the weekly weigh ins: weight lost

3-6= 190.8
3-13= 181.6 (-9.2)
3-20= 179.4 (-2.2)
3-27= 178.8 (-.6)
4-2= 179.1 (+.3)
4-9= 176.9 (-2.2)
4-16= 176 (-.9)
4-19= 174.6 (-1.4)

total pounds lost since march 6th= 16.2pounds
not counting the first week of diet I have lost an average of 1 pound per week. 7 pounds over the past 6 weeks. I will hunker down until may 1st my first goal weight of 169.9.
I don't think I can get there but who knows! Being alcohol free is the only way that I could have lost this weight. Intermittant fasting has worked and lowerish carb dieting.
bizi
that is 4.7 pounds in 12 days!...maybe!

Bizi,

I'm curious about your intermitent fasting. An ex room mate of mine used it to great success and lost a lot of weight. I'm thinking of trying it.

If you don't mind sharing, what are your eating vs fasting hours.

Thanks.

Smile Re: Bizi's thread:

It is pretty simple really.
I skip breakfast.
And eat my first meal of the day somewhere between 1130am to noon eating a healthy lunch lots of veggies 3 sides and a protein at sandras health food cafe, every day. Then may have a nut or two to snack on before dinner or even a piece of cheese or both. have dinner at 5;30 or 6 or later but no later than 7;30pm.
So no snacking after dinner nor calories. I do have sugar free hard candies that have sugar alcohol in them to sweeten them. and are very satisfying and I drink a zevia soda at night with stevia sweetener which is made from a plant and is a diet drink that is safe to drink.
I also use the liquid sweetener called sweet leaf and use 2 half dropperfulls in the morning with my coffee. or even just plain water at night and heat it up.I like the sweetness. It is really sweet and satisfying! I used to use creamer too but have not in 6 weeks since starting this way of life. so 11:30 to 7:30 then nothing for 16 hours until the next day at 11:30-
It is working for me. I also follow a lowerish carb diet meals getting carbs from veggies...but sometimes I do have a bit of potato or quinoa, I might even have a mashed sweet potato at lunch. I eat chocolate every night and like the fudge pops, all before 7;30pm except for these hard candies. which don't effect your blood sugar.
hope this helps...
ask me anything.
bizi
My therapist did this and lost 68 pounds
(I don't know her time frame)and is keeping it off. She is not watching what she ate....
