I have a problem where I will take up to 100 mg of adderall if I have my hands on my prescription bottle. Normally, my therapist holds it for me and give it to me in small amounts. I also over-take my klonopin. I'm just looking to escape the daily pain. Is this addiction?

I don't know if this could be considered an addiction. Presumably these are medications that are prescribed for you to be taking in the prescribed dosages. But taking them the way you are is certainly is dangerous!
You didn't mention why your therapist isn't giving you your med's as s/he normally does. But it sounds as though it would be wise for you to have someone (your T or someone else) holding your med's for you & giving them to you in the prescribed dosages. I know you wrote you're looking to escape your daily pain. But taking large amounts of prescription medications isn't the way to do it. Please take care... __________________ "I may be older but I am not wise / I'm still a child's grown-up disguise / and I never can tell you what you want to know / You will find out as you go." It's addictive behavior whether there is a physical addiction or not.

I was prescribed 10mg. of Adderall twice a day. After 4 days I started taking 3 a day. I consider this a relapse. Yes it's addiction too. My husband used to shoot it up and had to be hospitalized. Adderall addiction is very real.

I believe Adderall addiction led to my sisters untimely death a month ago event thou she had been off Adderall for a year...she was just getting back to her baseline "normal".
In which case they prescribed her Klonopin and she always took too many also at the start of her prescription. She died on Sept 13 accidently cause she had too many drugs in her system and she drank alcohol. Its true these drugs can kill you and if they don't kill you they can mess seriously with your body organs. __________________ "I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell" (My girlfriend had this ringtone for my phone calls...lol) Bipolar 1 Anxiety Current Medications: Lorazepam Zoloft Abilify Gabapentin |

How do you fix impulse control? I always tell myself this time I'll only take one but the little voice in my head says " it's okay you need more" and next thing I know I grab four then I tell myself okay that's good enough and a couple hours later I think if I don't take more now I won't feel them and then I'm grabbing my bottel and taking out four more, this repeats through out the day and then I beat myself up for being a weak failure

I hope BethMae is doing ok Please go to a doctor as soon as you can. It can be very dangerous I'm so sorry you're struggling, Lost child I'd say the same thing to you... if this behavior continues, I'd suggest to talk to your Pdoc about this and see how it goes from there. Do it as soon as you can. It can be very dangerous for your own health. I'm so sorry you have to deal with this

I abused prescription meds for some time as well... And bought benzos from others as I had my prescription revoked. I don't get 'good' scripts anymore, because I have a meth addiction.
