Has anyone here had a kratom addiction?

Has anyone here kicked a kratom addiction?

Has anyone here had withdrawal symptoms from stopping kratom?

My husband drinks kratom tea three times a day. It helps with his knee pain and gives him motivation. He drinks 'Super Green,' which is a calming leaf. I don't know if he's addicted or not. He does have to have it. When he runs out we go buy more from the Octopus Garden; a head shop off the four lane. It's harmless in my opinion.

Okay well I was drinking over ten teaspoons a day for a few years and developed intense anxiety, and then when I quit I developed psychosis.

Actually that's not entirely true. The psychosis was concurrent with marijuana and kratom usage. So I'm not sure.

My psychiatrist thinks my currently diagnosed psychosis and anxiety could be because of kratom, is why I ask.

The FDA announced they were going to take steps to classify it as an opioid. They released info on kratom related deaths and the data is suspect at best. In fact, it seems to substantiate the claims that it is safe:

Yeah, that's what I've heard as well. But my psychiatrist is under the impression it has caused my symptoms, and the weird thing is I have improved since I have reduced my dose.

interesting, never heard of it.
though 5 million users in the us alone is striking.
With my addictive personality I should stay clear of the stuff.

I developed a tolerance to it. I drink two teaspoons a day now and I don't receive any benefit other than a breather that I got my satisfaction dose. No real high or calmness. Or rather, very mild.
