I find that marijuana and alcohol severely impact my illness (schizoaffective disorder). Are there any tips that people know to try to avoid people who engage in these behaviors (weed and alcohol)? I have a really hard time avoiding those drugs when I'm in a situation where others are using. I am not entirely sure if I have an addiction, per se, but I have trouble avoiding marijuana and alcohol and am looking for support around that.

Yeah, marijuana and alcohol are so available, especially in social settings.
I know it's really hard to say no sometimes because you'll look like a "party pooper." But I don't think you should feel pressure to do them, especially when you don't want to. If you don't want to draw attention to yourself... Can you just fake it? Pretend you're smoking but don't inhale & as long as you're holding a solo cup nobody is going to bother you - just fill it up with pop __________________ |

Well, I guess I'm not really addicted to drugs and alcohol, but I want to stop drinking and smoking.

Whenever I go to the casino in town, I usually have either a virgin strawberry daiquiri or some hot chocolate with whipped cream.
