I’m super depressed, I’ve been off work for three months. Right now I’m on Zoloft, Wellbutrin and Klonopin, I’m still drinking and I’m afraid of going back to work. Everytime I drink I get suicidal thoughts and I don’t know how to stop. My anxiety and panic attacks are so extreme. None of my family or friends understand. I just want to escape

Hi and welcome. How long have you been on the meds for? The alcohol is a depressant and is going to make the anxiety ten times worse. Its a tough road with depression and alcohol friend. I understand- I fought the same battle and still have difficult days.

You obviously know you need to stop drinking. Take it one step at a time. Do you keep it in the house? Do you hang out with drinkers? What other distraction could you substitute?

We are taking nearly the same medications--I am taking bupropion, sertraline, xanax (it's almost like klonopin but shorter acting) and gabapentin. How high is your Wellbutrin dose? When I was on too high of a dose--it made my anxiety and panic attacks worse plus it enabled me to drink more because high doses of Wellbutrin make me unable to sleep.

I'm so sorry you're struggling, Jpstevens Do you see a therapist? Maybe that could help. You definitely need to work on your drinking problem since it's causing you so much trouble. Maybe you can try not to keep it in your house and avoid any place that lets you drink. You can try to find some hobbies as well. I'm so sorry you have to deal with this
