Hi
I am a chronic migraine sufferer and have been since I was 12 I am now 56. I have always been on numerous medications and spent thousands. I am taking prescription pain killers mersyndolforte and imigrin. I take it every where with me. Even exercising I am terrified of getting a sudden attack. I wake up every morning with a slight headache and depend on my pain medication everyday. I try and talk myself out of not needing it but I find I take at least one everyday. I used to go to different doctors to get scripts have been doing it for years. I feel ashamed but no one knows the pain of a migraine unless they have had one , I end up in bed debilitated, vomiting unable to speak let alone look after my sons both with disabilities. I live alone
Please help me .

Hello Aprilangel: I see this is your first post here on PC. Welcome to Psych Central. The Health Support forum, here on PC, may be one that will be of interest to you. Here's a link:

https://psychcentralforums.com/health-support/

I thought I would also draw your attention to Psych Central's sister website: NeuroTalk. There is a forum on NT devoted to headache-related concerns. Here's a link:

NeuroTalk Support Groups

And then here are links to 3 articles, from Psych Central's archives, that may be of interest:

I hope you find PC to be of benefit.

I got addicted to pain meds after a shoulder injury. I hear you. Are not there good new migraine prevention meds available that you take every day?

Getting off opiates requires support. You have excellent healthcare there and should look into your local treatment options now. Do it now.

We will support you and love you. You can do this. I kicked opiates 20 yrs ago and have had no issues w them since. Get help. You are brave and strong!!!

Hugs!!
