Hi Everyone,
I can hardly believe it, but today is 2 years sober. This is the first time in 15 years that I've hit this mark. I'm really happy. I thank the Women for Sobriety program for making this possible. splitimage |

Thanks everyone. @sarahsweets
I mainly used the Women for Sobriety program, which is a women only program that is very different from the 12 steps. But I also attend Double Recovery meetings which are an offshoot of AA for addiction and mental health, and so are 12 step based, but I tend to ignore that aspect of it. I was in AA for years, and took it very seriously and worked the steps, had a sponsor etc., and managed to get a couple of one year, 18 month length periods of sobriety with it. But ultimately I couldn't reconcile my beliefs with some of the steps and so looked for an alternative. Women for Sobriety was a much better fit for me. splitimage |

Good for you for listening to your inner voice and looking for alternatives!! I was in AA for a number of years also. As I got better, I realized there were some things about it I was not comfortable with, so I left and found my own way. Good for you for listening to your own voice! __________________ "Love you. @sarahsweets here's the link to WFS Home - Women For Sobriety
But they're not holding any in person meetings either, it's all virtual. And keep in mind it is completely different from AA, not just a different flavour. If AA is really thing, you might not like WFS. |
