By the time I was 11 I'd already experienced depression, anxiety, social anxiety, self-harm, binge eating disorder, and anorexia nervosa.
Great. I'm messed up. But anorexia was the worst. It was never really that severe, my love for food never let me get that far. But it was the constant counting of calories and the obsession over trying to estimate how many calories are in something when my mom made the meal and I didn't know. I still have anorexia but at least now I know it, and I'm slowly recovering. Anybody been through something similar? |

Hello OreoQueen: Anorexia is not something I have struggled with. But I noticed this is your first post here on PC. So... welcome to PsychCentral. Here's a link to an article, from PsychCentral's archives, on the subject of living with anorexia:
Living with Anorexia Nervosa I hope you find PC to be of benefit. |

Remember your experience will never be the same as every other sufferer. That way you shall develop great relationships among those who share slighly similar experiences under the same diagnosis.

Hi,
I don't think you're messed up, you just have a lot of your shoulders Make sure you've got friends you can talk to about how you feel and what you're going through.. As for anorexia, a friend of mine was grateful when I told them to try to eat food slower, in smaller bites, so if I might suggest that as well |

Trust me, there are many who have been through the same thing... but I'm so glad you're recovering, now
