I really really really hate Medicaid. I’ve had an eating disorder for 19 years. I am totally blind and 26. I have very complex trauma issues including dissociative identity disorder.I’ve been fighting my insurance company now for a year and a half, and there is nothing in my state. My primary care doctor is recommending inpatient, but my insurance company is refusing to pay. I called them to ask what options I have, and they told me they did not have any alternatives. I have a managed care organization company that is contracted with Medicaid, so it’s nearly impossible for me to get treatment. I don’t know what to do.

Ask if out patient is an option. Nutritionists are covered. So you may have to make your own treatment team. Are you in a network of drs?

Outpatient is not an option. I live in a small town. My dietitian isn’t even covered by my insurance company as they only cover dietitians if you have diabetes.

Has anyone ever been to Linden Oaks eating disorders program? Residential is not an option when I get out. If I even get excepted. What am I supposed to do? The link of stay for that program is only 7 to 10 days.

It's not Medicaid it's where you live that's the problem. Have you thought about moving closer to treatment?
