Ok, so last spring I relapsed and lost a bunch of weight. One of the results was hair loss. But I went to treatment and now that I am eating properly, my hair is growing back. However, it is growing back curly. I have had straight hair all my life. But everything that fell out, is curly. The hair that did not fall out is still straight. At first i thought it was because it was just too short and I did not think it would last. But it has been 5 months and about 2.5-3 inches long, and it is still quite curly. I just wanted to know if anyone else experienced something similar. It is honestly pretty funny to me. I have always wanted curly hair, and now 1/3 of my hair is curly. Anyone have something simmilar happen to them?

Nope, sorry. My hair has always been wavy! But then I never had that much fall out with my relapses, and I do have long hair.

My hair ended up like straw & I did lose quite a lot. My hair has always been naturally curly/frizzy(in high humidity) & it came back in the same....but it took years for the straw like texture to go away. Had it cut & that helped. Now it is nice & shiny & healthy

Not having the weight of additional hair causes the hair to curl more if you have any curl at all. Ie I have wavy to curly hair and cut short it’s like this terrible blob of curl.

so what can you do.. if you don't want those curls you can invest in a hair straightener tool that can be purchased in stores in the hair care isle or go to a salon and they will straighten the curls or you can buy a self perming kit or have a salon give you a perm so that all your hair matches. or as some that I knew chose to do, shave all the hair off and then let it all grow back in so that it will all match. |
