Hey everyone. It's been awhile since my last post. I'll make it brief then. For those with antisocial personality or suspected to have it; have you experienced any improvements or advanced skills for life since checking bout psych central? And like wise for those viewing for friends or family. Just curious.

Have you experienced any improvement?
I have experienced some, finally, with my limited ASPD characteristics, but in me they were mostly dissociated. Integrating them with the rest of everything has been a real bear, therapists have not been much help, may have made my situation worse. I don't think "they" (mental health "professionals") know what they are doing. I think the only people who may are others who have had the difficulties. What's been your experience? |

Not really, just the opposite. I haven't been diagnosed, but I do feel I might have ASPD (and I don't want to get diagnosed anyway). Things aren't improving, I keep fighting with everyone, I feel more numb everyday, I lie constantly (and I got several punishments for that after being caught) and I have less feelings unless for some personal emotions (happiness, for example). It's everyday getting worse, but anyways I feel like I need this, as if it was a drug I'm addicted to because I feel there's no other way.

My experience? Well I've found little to no progress with any professional assistance. Though currently I'm without such assistance and have actually seemed to manage somewhat better. Although sometimes I do slip into my old ways. But as of late I'd say I've done quite well at being pro social. I believe I learned more from others like myself rather than professionals anyway. Pity there aren't more like myself active on here.

Technically my first therapist ran for the hills. They sent me to Another clinical professional which diagnosed me. In his own words if he had it his way I would be essentially locked up until I had likely aged out of some of my antisocial traits. Apparently it was too dangerous to treat me like patients with other disorders because they thought I would try to use them and take advantage of the system. Not exactly an open minded lot.
