I have mood swings which is very tough to live with.I mean one minute I could be laughing and happy then the next crying or yelling.I am presently on trilpetol I use to take them years ago it is so hard to find something that works. I found out I had these way back in 1986 when I was in the mental health unit.I was there for almost two weeks ,I had a very hard time being there with anxieties and all.I had a MRI which I swear I will never have again,I was strapped down especially underneath my chin and when u have very bad anxieties and agoraphobia it make matters worse.I have five different mental illness's ,anxieties, panic attacks, depression ,bipolar and mood swings.Sometimes I feel like a different person inside like I am so angry inside,I have thrown a couple of things but they weren't anything heavy like a pillow and my purse I threw once when I was in the bathroom. Sometimes I get so upset I feel like throwing something but I dont because what good would it do me?Having mood swings is no picnic.

I often feel like throwing things as well. Unfortunately sometimes I do. I always tell myself I won't do it again. But, somehow, I always seem to...

I'm so sorry you're struggling, xmascarol Mood swings are very hard to deal with. Usually a combination of meds and therapy can help. Have you talked to your Pdoc about this? If your meds aren't working, perhaps you can ask for a change. Also if you often feel angry you could try to buy a punching bag. That way you can vent your anger. I'm so sorry you have to deal with this

There's a condition known as misophonia that might be worth exploring ... There's plenty of information here at PC, as well as on the web in general if you google the word ... I also agree with MickeyCheeky about finding outlets for the anger and rage - that way you don't end up snapping and causing harm to yourself or others.
Blow up punching clowns placed about the house, going to a batting cage and hitting baseballs or softballs, and/or going to a driving range and hitting golf balls are all great outlets for anger and rage, and most likely the mood swings will improve as the anger is properly vented ... I hope things start feeling better for you sooner than later because it is miserable feeling mood swings ... Especially if they are like a scary carnival ride you can't get off of. |
