I have been on Klonopin for years now ,I was doing some reading up on it from the paper the pharmacy gave me,Well if you dont already know this that klonopin can cause angry and violence.I certainly do get angry but I also have bipolar and mood swings too.it could cause aggravation, nausea ,get this it can actually make you feel anxious.I just love it when you take a pill that is suppose to be able to help you with something when it fact it can actually cause the problem you are trying to fix.I know it is a controlled drug and they really dont prescribe it anymore because people tend to abuse it.I myself dont I only take it when I need it.I just wanted you to know this that is all.

Thanks for this. I was on Klonopin for a short while several years back now. It was prescribed for me when I had a serious increase in the level of tinnitus I have. And it was actually quite helpful.
I've always had anger management issues & have had periodic episodes where I would loose control for short periods of time almost completely, thankfully though, short of becoming physically violent. And now as I'm aging it seems as though while these episodes aren't increasing in frequency, when they do occur, they are even more extreme than they used to be (again short of physical violence.) I've wondered sometimes if what I am experiencing is a precursor to some form of senior dementia. But I don't know. I've told myself, on a couple of occasions, that if I continue having these "blowouts" I'll have to see about getting on some sort of anti-anxiety med. And the one that has typically come to mind is Klonopin, because of the beneficial effect it had on my tinnitus. But if Klonopin can actually make you feel anxious & cause an increase in anger & violence, then that definitely would not be the best medication for me. |

I don't have issues with anger and only took Klonopin for a very short time. But I know that a lot of doctors are trying to get people off benzos because of how addictive they are. Maybe you can talk to your doctor about weaning you off it. Don't stop it without checking with the doctor first, as I have heard withdrawals can be bad with benzos. You have to taper down slowly.

I take Klonopin sparingly. Usually only half-tablet of 0.5mg when I feel anxiety coming on. But lately, I've been having these "mini" anxiety episodes and shaking. I'm wondering if this is related to Klonopin use? Or do I have something neurological going on?
