I do online school and have to meet with my teacher in about 2 hours. I’m bouncing off the wall, I’m so anxious. I don’t dig her too much, she gives me bad vibes. Does anyone have advice on how to get through the lesson, to manage my anxiety?

I'm sorry you are faced with this anxiety-provoking event. It's been many years since I was in school. (There was no such thing as on-line school back when I was attending.) I was never much of a student & often showed up less than prepared. Plus I never cared much for any of the teachers I had back then either. I can still recall the anxiety I'd often feel going to class.

One thing that may help you is to simply express your anxiety to your teacher. Don't tell her it's because you don't like her of course. Perhaps you can just say you're having a difficult day, or something else generic. Sometimes just being open about what you're feeling can help. And then, beyond that, from my perspective it's simply a matter of acknowledging to yourself that you're anxious, & allowing it to be there (because it already is.) You can then, perhaps, visualize yourself breathing into your anxiety & you can smile to it. You might even place a hand over your heart as a sign of compassion & lovingkindness for what you are feeling.

Here are links to 2 articles, from PC's archives, that (hopefully) may also be of some help:

I'm so sorry, sadeveiledbride I have similar struggles. I have anxiety related to school as well. I'd suggest to just focus on the lesson and do the best you can. Try to just follow what she's saying and focus on that. Do you have any coping techniques that you usually use? Any grounding techniques? Anythings that could help your anxiety. Hopefully as the lesson goes on you'll feel a bit less anxious. Try to think of something else while you wait. Maybe listen to some meusic if you can. I'm so sorry, I know it's hard. Please don't give up. Is there anything we can do to help you? Please let us know. Remember that we're here for you. Feel free to PM me anytime. Let me know if I can do something to help you. Wish you good luck! Let us know how it goes. Sending many hugs to you

Do you meet with her on person or via video chat? I teach online courses and have never met a student in person. I would probably feel like you do right now if I had to do that! Maybe she's just as anxious as you?
