Okay, so I am volunteering right now and it is very much a big deal - and quite similar in duties to the job I just left. I left on account of the debilitating Anxiety. Yet.... this isn't happening with this volunteer gig. It is pretty intense. I go home exhausted yet not an ounce of Anxiety has creeped in which doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I expect some of this stems from the fact I am not getting a wage (I am being provided with an honorarium though, same thing yet different) and thus don't feel as obligated to perform.
Just wondering if others experience this the same way too. |

I understand what you mean, WishfulThinker66. I agree with you. It probably has something to do with the fact that you're not receiving any wage - you don't "have" to perform a certain way, you can just do the best you can without too much pressure. Although I'm sure it's still lots of hard work! But there's probably less anxiety involved since this isn't a duty but something that you've decided to do. That's just my opinion, though. I may be completely wrong. I hope volunteering is helping you a bit! I think it's a wonderful thing that you're doing this. You're helping people and helping yourself at the same time! I hope you'll feel better soon. Wish you good luck! Let us know how it goes. Sending many hugs to you
