My boyfriend suffers from anxiety and is always on the go! He doesn’t stop to smell the roses...he is never late for work but on the weekend he has an itinerary he goes by, doesn’t sleep in late, and is rush rush rush. Even on weekdays he runs out to stores to get things...I can chill but ever since this new job he has excelerated. Now he’s focused and run run run! He slowed down for the holidays a little for a nice 2 months. No itinerary

I do this too. I don’t know why I do it. I do know that I get bored easily. I put too much on my plate though.

I'm so sorry, Gymgirl71 I'm sure many other people here on CP can relate to your boyfriend. I don't know if it has something to do with anxiety, but I believe it may play a part in it. Sometimes people with anxiety can only think about what they have to do next, such as going to work or going to the stored. Perhaps that's the source of his anxiety. He's really busy and he feels like he has to do everything. That's just my opinion, though. I may be completely wrong. I'd suggest to talk to him about this and see how it goes from there. Perhaps he isn't even aware of what he's doing. Be there to support him if you can. I hope things will get better soon for you and your boyfriend. That's all you can do after all. Remember that we're here for you if you need it. Feel free to PM me anytime. Let me know if I can do something to help you. I'm so sorry you have to deal with this

I don't know about your boyfriend, but for me, I rarely feel I can relax. It's not really even comfortable to try. If I'm busy and accomplishing something, then I'm not worrying about things as much either. I am not saying I'm comfortable with this way if living, but for now I just go with the flow. My therapist says to stay distracted for now and things will change eventually for me.

If I stop and think I just get more anxious, keeping active keeps my mind off things at least for a while.

Maybe they rush around like that so the sooner everything's dealt with, the sooner they can go back to bed :-)

I am in and out, gotta do it as soon as possible - all so I can escape the public. I choose low times to do my shopping and never go without a list. No lingering around. No wandering the aisles. Just in and out as quick as I can to releive the stressful situation. Even my painting is done now, now, now.

For me, if I have nothing to do, I start stressing out more. I find it more relaxing to plan things out.

anxiety causes the release of adrenaline and stress hormones, it stimulates your brain, body and mind. This is also the reason why using stimulants is a big no-no when suffering with anxiety because it pronounces these effects
