Used the trigger icon because this post will be kind of graphic and
disgusting depending on the person. Today I went to the movies by myself and it started off well. Got there early, got movie nachos and a sprite. Ate my food and my stomach started hurting just a little. I finally make into the auditorium and my stomach started hurting again and i felt a BM coming on. i tried to hold it in and stay calm. but eventually i couldn't hold it anymore. I'm walking extremely fast to the bathroom and its coming out already (though it would end up in my undies). The pain causes me to have several anxiety attacks in the public restroom. I did try to do my breathing techniques and the '54321' mindfulness exercise to help with the anxiety. I suppose they helped a little, but i still had the usual being hot, couldn't breathe and just feeling overall panicky.
I'm going to have ibs most likely forever. Any advice/tips to not have panic attacks when I have diarrhea? any and all help is truly appreciated because I can't stay in the house all the time because of fear of IBS attacks. I still have to live my life.

have you tried medications like pepto bismo.kaopetake they help with the diarrhea sometimes.I dont think I spelled those meds right but I tried. Believe it or not this is one reason why I am afraid to go to the doctors fear of pooping in my pants .I wear underwear so if I do poop it will end up in them but still that fear is very real. I mean who wants to smell poop?Luckily I have never pooped yet at the doctors office but a few times it felt like it.I have agoraphobia so that messes my stomach up. Hey I got a nervous stomach anyway.I have a friend who has IBS but she cannot go.So I know what you are going through.I belive Assure has underwear and Depends to you could try.Nobody has to know you are wearing them,I dont tell anyone.Except my best friend matter of fact she is the one who suggested it.Well then again this forum will know now, that is fine.If they make you feel better try those.Just a thought.

Thank you, I don't take pep-to or kaopettake they make me even sicker. And I know the feeling, I hate going to the doctors also. I have been looking for underwear because they say Assure/depends don't help with fecal incontinence, just incontinence. I found another brand called Pravail and ordered some samples. Thanks again!

I have IBS too but I sometimes have very large and painful stools. It causes great anxiety as well. The only thing that helps my situation is just pushing it out as fast as possible and getting it over with as quickly as possible.

Sorry if this doesn’t help.

I'm so sorry you're going through all of this, ken9018 I understand it must very annoying and hard for you! I have never experienced this so unfortunately I don't have a lot of advice to give to you. I'm so sorry. Mountaindewed and xmascarol have already gave you some great, wonderful advice! I'd suggest to listen to them if you can and watn! They always give us such great advice! I'd suggest to talk to your Pdoc and therapist about this and see how it goes from there. Maybe that could help! They're there to help you after all. Perhaps they'll be able to give you some advice about how to deal with all of this when you're feeling anxious or you're having problems with your stomach! Hopefully you'll be able to cope with this anxiety and panic attacks a little bit better! I'd suggest to talk to them and see how it goes from there if you haven't already! I hope things will get better soon for you! Please don't give up hope! Try to hang on as much as you can! I'm sure you'll be able to get through this! Just try to do your best! That's all you can do after all and it's more than enough! Just remember to apply all the coping techniques that you already know of! Perhaps you won't be able to make your anxiety and panic attacks disappear completely, but hopefully they'll become lesse frequent! Keep fighting! You're a strong, wonderful person! You're awesome! You're strong! You're a warrior! I believe in you! We all believe in you! We're all rooting for you! I'm so sorry you have to deal with all of this, ken9018! I'm so sorry you're going through all of this! I'm sure you'll be able to get through all of this! You don't deserve to go through all of this at all! You don't deserve to suffer at all! Nobody deserves to suffer at all, certainly not you! Keep fighting! Believe in yourself like we all believe in you! Remember that you're awesome and strong! Remember that you're a warrior!
