I do not know why but when something smells strong I actually get bad anxieties and sometimes they develop into a panic attack,Has anyone else experience this? I can feel my heart racing then I start to gag. Damn woman next door always has to burn her stupid incense ,When they built this place all the vents are connected so when she burns something I can smell it.It is a disgusting smell almost like paint and a sweet smell. They r not suppose to burn candles so why does she get to burn incense?Paint makes me gag.I do lay down when I get this but sometimes that makes me more anxious

Yeah I worry the bad smell is me and I freak out. People tell me it’s not me though. I hate it when people are all like “ewww, what’s that smell?” It’s a relief though when I can actually pinpoint the smell and point it out to them.

My son came in my apt about a month ago and right away he said something smells in here well me just being funny said well it isnt me/He said it smelled like sour milk.I know what it was my next door neighbor is always burning things.I could smell it all day yesterday he told me to it was n't me >I should hope not since I bathe every day. When he came back home he could smell it too.Everything that woman burns has to come right through my vents. That is why my allergies are so bad she is not suppose to be burning candles so how come she gets to burn that awful incense ,even my friend said she could smell it,it is so annoying especially when the heat goes on,She knows it wasnt me.Still it can be very embarrassing if someone smells it and doesnt realize that it is coming through my vents,og by the way I dont drink milk.SO there was no milk in my apt.

Oh yes I do. I get anxious for various reasons. My boyfriend gets anxious too and will go about hunting down the source. Having been a volunteer fire fighter he gets really upset when he smells even the slightest odor of smoke or what he is convince is natural gas.

I'm so sorry you're hurting so much, xmascarol! I understand what you mean. Perhaps you're just very sensitive to smell? I'm not sure about it. I'd suggest to talk to your doctor about this and see how it goes from there if you haven't already! Hopefully he/she will be able to help you! He/she's there to help you after all! I'd also suggest to talk to your neighbor about this and see how it goes from there if you haven't already! Maybe that could help! Just try to tell him/her that the smell is bothering you and try to ask if he/she can avoid burning incense if he/she can! I feel like you have EVERY RIGHT to ask that! It's your own health we're talking about after all! If you live in an apartment, perhaps you could try to talk to your landlord or whoever is in charge of the apartment and see how it goes from there! Try to tell him/her how much this is bothering you! Hopefully they'll listen to what you have to say and understand you! Hopefully they'll try to do something about it! You have every right to live a comfortable, happy life just like everyone else does and you don't deserve to go through all of this AT ALL! Nobody does, certainly not you! I hope you'll be able to get rid of that smell one way or another as soon as you can! I'm so sorry you're going through all of this! You don't deserve to suffer AT ALL! Nobody deserves to suffer AT ALL, certainly NOT YOU! I'm so sorry you have to deal with all of this, xmascarol! Please don't give up hope! Try to hang on as much as you can! You're a strong, wonderful person! Please remember that because IT IS TRUE and we ALL know that! KEEP FIGHTING! Keep trying your best like you're already doing, xmascarol! That's all you can do after all and it's more than enough! I BELIEVE IN YOU! WE ALL BELIEVE IN YOU! I hope you'll be able to believe in yourself as much as we do and that you'll be able to see yourself as the strong, wonderful person that you truly are because IT IS TRUE! WE ALL KNOW THAT! I'm sure you know that as well even if it's deep down! YOU'RE AN AWESOME, STRONG WARRIOR! I hope you'll be able to believe it because IT IS TRUE! YOU ROCK, XMASCAROL! TRUST ME WHEN I SAY THAT! PLEASE REMEMBER THAT! I'm so sorry you have to deal with all of this, xmascarol! Please don't give up hope! Try to hang onas much as you can! You're much STRONGER than you believe! You can do this! You've got this! You're an AWESOME, STRONG WARRIOR! PLEASE REMEMBER THAT!

most cases, the pannic attack comes from the fact that I smell something relating to a bad memory
for example smoke (as in fire smoke), a certain perfume that my grandmother used to wear (she's now passed on), and blood- when I smell blood, I always have to check myself to see if I'm bleeding (even if I know full well that I'm not) most smells I can tolerate while I'm their, it's only later when I'm away from it I start spraying air freshener and realising just how bad it was the one smell I can't seem to take is cooking vegetables that's the exception overrides everything else |
