In the past 2 weeks, I have developed really bad pins and needles. Whenever I am reminded of one of my insecurities, my mind starts to wander but it doesn't feel like I am panicking. Then my lower body starts to get tense and my legs start tingling and have a burning sensation. Once I stop thinking about the thoughts, they don't go away and they persist for basically the rest of the day. If I am feeling really bad about myself (to the point of self harm), my teeth/arms start tingling. Is this a normal reaction to anxiety and is there something I can do to combat it?
My main insecurity is about my lack of friends and I get really insecure and jealous when I see my SO with his friends. It just reminds me of how alone I am (in different states atm until school starts) and I find it really hard to stop thinking about. The only way I can get over it is by distracting myself with video games. Thanks for the help. |

Hello flyrom: Thank you for bringing your concern here to PC. I see this is your first post. So... welcome to Psych Central.
What you describe is not familiar to me. Perhaps there will be other members who will have some insights they can share.
