Hi, my whole life I have had a phobia of insects, specifically of bees, wasps and everything big that can bite. It started with me being bitten by a bee when I was 3 or 4, soon after that I got bitten again and again for a total of about 5 times for 3 years. In between I got bitten by wasps too. Until I was 11 years old I got a severe insectophobia and my parents were trying to help me get over it and they did a pretty good job. I was still frightened by them, but I knew how to react kinda. Now I am fifteen and last week me and my family were having a family dinner outside our house in the province. I was talking with my mum and suddenly I heard a loud buzz. I noticed something fell right in front of me from the three over my head. I saw a BIG, BIG wasp, I think it was a hornet, it flew around me and went to the lamp. I immediately went inside. My mom decided she should try to kill it so I can get outside. While trying to kill it she almost got bitten and she screamed. I literally started shaking, I think I had a panic attack, and I almost started crying. I didnt go outside again this night. After this moment, my insectophobia came back. I am terrified from hornets, kinda scared from bees and very scared from wasps. My dad thinks I am girlish by being scared of them and my mom jokes around with me about it, but my aunt and uncle told them we should take care of it. I don't really know what to do. I live in the city and I dont encounter anything more than a bee, but when I am somewhere in the wild and I see a hornet or a wasp, which I am looking for, I start trying to hide from them or run away. Can I somehow cure myself or should I go to see a doctor?

And then, since you're a teen, here's a link to an article that offers suggestions for coping with emotions as a teen:
