I've come to the conclusion that my body cannot handle even the smallest bit of stress. I was starting to recover from a severe episode where i was not able to leave my house for weeks due to anxiety. I was exercising and eating relatively healthy and things were picking up and then just in the last few days i started to feel the chest pains coming back and the anxiety increasing.. etc. And now today i feel like absolute crap again. There is a slight head cold going around which i got and that was enough to ruin all my improvement and set me way back. I don't know what to do anymore it seems like it's way to easy for me to slip back into this state. I don't have a psychiatrist app for like 3 weeks either and they always make me wait 6 weeks between appointments without even checking up on me. I tried calling them a few times in the last few days but no answer. Also with my anxiety it physical drains me. My skin gets really pale, I get bloated, bloodshot puffy eyes, severe chest pains, fatigue, muscle spasms, sinus issues. On top of that I end up looking like I ages about twenty years so that makes it extra hard to leave the house or function. When my anxiety is gone all these symptoms go away.

Hello Spacingspaces: I see this is your first post here on PC. So... welcome to Psych Central.

I'm sorry you are experiencing all of this difficulty. I presume you've had yourself checked out medically to make sure there's not something of that sort going on. In your title you asked why you are extremely sensitive to stress. And, of course, I don't have the answer to that. There is such a thing as being a highly sensitive person. Perhaps you are one? Here are links to 4 articles, from Psych Central's archives, on the subject:

Understanding a Highly Sensitive Person : What is an HSP? | NLP Discoveries

What Makes a Highly Sensitive Person?

10 Tips for Highly Sensitive People

More Coping Tips for Highly Sensitive People

And then here are links to 3 articles that discuss the relationship between stress & physical health:

The Relationship Between Mental & Physical Health

I hope you find PC to be of benefit.

Yeah i've been checked medically and nothing was found. I am attending a mental health clinic too but the services are pretty bad. 6 weeks between appointments and the psychiatrist that i do get to see isn't fully trained plus they are really bad at answering phone calls. The nurse said he'd call me back today after i rang but he never called back. I've read about HSP before and i probably am one. I guess i just have to keep searching for an answer.
