I'm not sure what im going through

im having really bad anxiety and depression because of things i did as a child.
Possible trigger:
i can't sleep properly because of these feelings.
Possible trigger:
everyone i tell about this says it's okay because i was still a child but im not convinced. i feel like an abuser who deserves to have suicidal thoughts and anxiety because of what happened.

Hello gowinggrl: Thank you for bringing your concern here to PC. I see this is your first post. So... welcome to Psych Central.

I'm sorry you are struggling with this. You wrote that everyone you tell about what you did says it's okay because you were still a child, but you're not convinced. So I won't repeat the same thing others have told you. You didn't mention if you've seen, or are seeing, a counselor or therapist. Talking all of this through over time at-length & in-depth with a knowledgeable mental health professional might help to relieve some of your anxiety.

Here's a link to an article by our host Dr. John Grohol, Psy.D., from Psych Central's archives, that in turn provides links to a number of articles on the subject of guilt. Also included are links to articles on the subjects of fear, coping with thoughts that you are bad, & dealing with painful emotions, plus a link to an article of how to survive suicidal thoughts:

I hope you find PC to be of benefit.
