Recently I posted about having terrible school anxiety, but in the past two weeks I have dealt with a whole new type of anxiety. I currently live with my grandparents and help take care of them. My grandpa has many health problems and recently these problems made him end up in a hospital. Yesterday he was released and now he is in a rehab facility. I have been worrying non-stop about him and visiting him as much as possible. In the middle of all of this I lost my pet hamster. He was my child and best friend and his death hit me really hard on top of everything else that has been going on.

I was already anxious about school, but now with all this going on I feel like I am going to explode.

Hi skittytab,

It is really heartbreaking what you have been going through. I nearly cried when I read your post. Any of the things you suffered would be devastating for me personally and you are dealing with all of them at the same time. Wish I knew what to say to help. My heart goes out to you and I hope you get some relief from your anguish, grief and stress!

I am so, so sorry that you're having an excess of grief and anxiety. My heart goes out to you for the loss of your hamster. Losing a pet is a very specific and painful type of loss. I'm so sorry.

Do you have someone to talk with? Someone to support you emotionally? The feelings you are experiencing sound pretty 'normal' given the circumstances you describe---
It does sound like you really need something that will relax you for a time each day (?exercise, yoga, dancing/music...a meet up group/school club/activity?)---something just for You---one hour in which you allow yourself to be free of responsibilities. Don't let the anxiety/panic stop you (I've lived with it for years, it really does make a difference to find a place/activity that absorbs you for a while--)

I’m curious, you tagged your post as death anxiety, so have you begun to fear or agonize about your own mortality as result of theses losses? I went through a really bad spell of death anxiety about 5 years ago, but I don’t remember it having any specific triggers. I had to have my cat put down a little less than two years ago so I know the pain losing a pet can cause. I was fine until the vet assistant took her from me then I started blubbering like a baby.
