My washing machine broke down so I had to go to a laundromat today. It was not a pleasant experience.

I was the only person wearing a mask. No one kept any distance at all. No disinfectant available. The cleaner was coughing while standing at about 30 cm distance from me, not wearing a mask. What the hell, people???

I'm gonna find somewhere else to do my laundry until my machine is fixed.

I keep rescheduling my doctor's appointment cause I'm worried about Covid-19 and things are getting worse in my state. Right now it's a month away. I hope things get better by then. But in the meantime, I've had to leave the safety of my home to help my cat. I've been taking her to the vet. I don't like this vet. They aren't protecting people. I will have to go back on Monday. That's the last time. I worry whenever I'm around anyone. You just never know. And if I get Covid, I will probably die. I have all kinds of underlying issues. I gave my spare key to my mother in case anything happened to me. That way someone could save the cats.

One day we went to the store and then forgot that we needed to get something at the pharmacy too. Fortunately, we still had time on the permit when we remembered, so we were able to go out quickly to the pharmacy.

Now they are going to require this "one password", a password you can use to get into different government websites to log into the permit site. I have one, I would have thought most people do, but I guess not. There are lines at the civil registry of people trying to set up the password. Apparently, some people can request it online but those with older ID cards can't for some reason can't. So, it's creating all this crowding together of people. Add that to the people in line at the pension plan offices to request 10% of their savings (a measure by the government to help people deal with the economic effects of the pandemic) and people in line at the tax service to get help with a direct government assistance payment, and we're likely to see a spike in cases in a few weeks. Of course, to do any of those things, you have to use up a permit.

I didn't qualify for the direct payment, but I always handle all my tax stuff online. I have the government password and always administer my pension fund online with my, so I was able to request my 10% online, fortunately. Apparently a lot of people aren't set up to handle so much online.
Oh, dear. I can’t believe it. It seems more as an apocalypses situation.
I was sure the worst part will take place now there, in Latin America because of the temperatures.
Take care a lot!

I can’t believe it. Here, you have to wear a mask in indoor but also open spaces. And I have to recognised that people is pretty well used to keeping the distances, not everyone but most of them.

I do understand your worries but I want to cheer you up a little.
Take all your cautions with gel and mask when you take the cat to the vet. I don’t think the cat can transmit the virus so easy.
Is it possible you take the cat to another vet? I know in these times of emergency you have to go to the nearest place but if they don’t take the necessary cautions, I guess you have the right to look for another option.
By the way, I’m sorry your cat is not feeling very well. Hope soon, he gets better. I know how much you love your pets.

I hope your cat will get better soon Deilla, I hope you will feel happier like Azul suggests, your mask, gel. There is a lot we can do to protect ourselves.

I work in a grocery store and many people do not socially distance but none of my colleagues contracted this despite working through pandemic Now we wear masks and I think it will make us safer yet. There are definitely things we can do to protect ourselves around others.

Thank you for the support. I decided a little while ago I will take my cat to a different vet on Monday. This vet is right next to me and they come out to my car to pick her up. I think she will be fine. I've been trying to get a urine sample but it's not working. So the vet will have to do an extraction. If she is sick, she'll get an anti-biotic. She'll be fine. I'll be fine. I'm staying indoors for the next month. Hope everyone is safe. Yes, masks, sanitizer and safe distance all help.

The news is bad today. People breaking windows and stealing merchandise. Police unable to stop them. Schools that opened are closing temporarily. One good thing I heard recently is that the numbers in my state are holding. I have a dental appointment tomorrow. I feel like I will be safe. I need this dental cleaning so I am glad it opened up this week for me. I was on a waiting list.

Good luck with the vet, Deilla, our vet has set up a strict protocol for visits - appointment only, mask usage, only one person allowed in the consultation room, etc. We haven’t had to take our pets in, but I feel pretty good about taking them there if we had to.
In my country, despite curfew and lockdowns in many areas, crime is still an issue – carjackings, burglaries, etc. I think it’s in part criminals taking advantage of the fact that the police are occupied enforcing the curfew/lockdowns and in part due to desperation as a result of the economic situation

Yeah, seeing all those crowds on TV is worrying. I am very glad I didn't need to do any of that in person.

Here winter is pretty mild, we are already getting springlike weather, but down in Patagonia it's still cold. In that area, they use a lot of wood for heat, so the air quality is bad in winter, which is supposed to make COVID worse. I guess at least it is pretty sparsely populated, although some small/medium sized cities like Punta Arenas have had outbreaks.

They are now allowing senior citizens to to out to walk, and also kids accompanied by parents. The rest of us in lockdown areas still can't do even that.

I have seen in the news how in several countries people are protecting against the safety rules. I can understand they are tired but people needs to take responsibility even when the measures are not orders.
If we take a look at the past, the bubonic pest or the Spanish flue...They all had a very hard time. I’m afraid we will turn into very comfortable *** and we learnt nothing with this last pandemic. How fragile we are against the immensity of nature.

My dentist appointment went well. I wore a mask until it was time for my cleaning. The hygenist had a face shield. And the receptionist had a clear panel in front of her. I maintained a safe distance from others. I have to go back in two weeks. I feel confident that it will be safe then too. Today I have to take my cat to the vet again. But this time they will come cusbside to get her and drop her off. It's an emergency vet. My cat is not doing well at the moment and this was the soonest appointment I could get.

I think I am honestly getting used to the restrictions finally. I wear a mask outside of the house, I feel comfortable enough to go walking outside and running outside at parks and stuff as long as there aren't tons of people around, and I don't see friends really except for through Zoom or another platform. I think I'm getting to the point where I have almost adjusted to the "new normal". I think that's a good thing.

No unfortunately in the UK the face mask requirement is not enforced and a lot of people know this. Social distancing seems to have fallen away too. A lot of people think this isn't serious.

Personally I am at the stage where I focus on myself and my family, we are cautious because many people are not.

Ugh, not doing well today. They renewed quarantine for my area. At the same time they announced that they are transitioning two very densely populated central areas of the capital, which have a high flow of people in and out, many markets and street vendors, etc., out of quarantine. Something seems fishy to me. The mayors of those two municipalities are always very vocal, always on TV discussing how hard quarantine is for its residents. Our mayor, by contrast, never gets airtime since we are a lower-population more rural area outside of Santiago. The general consensus from what I have read online seems to be that it's probably their media presence that helped, not that their numbers are so great. We are not being shown a lot of the data that the Health Ministry is using to make these decisions, unfortunately.

Thank you! The vet appointment went well. She has a UTI. They gave her an antibiotic. She should be much better in a couple of days. I have to get her retested in two weeks.

Here they are, politicians taking the decisions they need to keep their chairs. I wonder which place population takes in their interests.

I've decided I'm going to have weight loss surgery. I talk to my doctor about it September 1st. I will start the process, which can take a few months. I may need a psych eval and have to lose about 10 pounds on my own. That prep work will be good now. It will allow for the pandemic to start to improve. I don't think I will have the actual surgery until vacines are available and hospitals have less patients. I would hate to be in a hospital for surgery and end up with Covid-19.
