It's been 9,5 months since I had any real fun. And it kills me to see people around me disregarding all the rules and having parties, hanging out in groups... so selfish! I'm really starting to struggle now, as much as I try to do things I enjoy that are still allowed, it's not enough. I've only been able to go home once, saw my parents and my best friends twice this entire year.
And I'm really trying to think of the greater good, if we all stick to the rules, things will get better.... but we're NOT all sticking to the rules and it feels like I'm just making myself miserable for nothing. Going grocery shopping today was a nightmare. I had to go early in the evening because I had to work, otherwise I would've gone in the morning. It was so crowded and people were shopping with their entire families, both parents with all the kids. How are people still not aware of the advice to stay home as much as possible? I do not understand, I truly don't And now I feel bad for complaining about not having any fun when people are very sick or dying from this virus. But it's tough without any company. |

Are you able to see people with a support bubble in your country? We have these here and they do seem to help many people. I too am struggling today, very similar reasons why. |

And as I'm writing this, my neighbours across the yard seem to be having a gathering again. And they have to be so bloody loud, so the entire effing street can hear they're having fun. It's really rubbing salt in the wounds for me. |

Yes, it is very hard. I sometimes feel a painful yearning for the day when I can simply go to the movies, or go shopping for needed things at my favorite stores, or be able to see a friend whom I haven't seen in too long. And I worry about people. It will be so wonderful when this terrible time is over with.

I'm just really frustrated right now that everyone I've tried to reach out to has rejected me. And I have little disctraction from what's upsetting me. Usually concerts are my happy place. Haven't been to a gig since February. Had one planned in September (corona proof) but it got cancelled last minute. My fave. band was finally going to tour again in April after a break of several years, obviously that got cancelled. I miss those guys so much, and all the people I've met through them. |

I believe we will get through this. I really miss my social life and events I used to do like $5 movies, drum circles, the symphony, bible study and meet ups. Some days I just get claustrophobic from it all. There is only so much you can do safely for excitement, adventure and fun.
I consider myself fortunate though. I was able to take a week long vacation to the mountains to see my daughter this summer (lots of distance in the mountains). I was also able to see my family for Thanksgiving as the risky ones have recently recovered from COVID. Those opportunities have kept me sane. I’m excited about the vaccines but I’m going to wait several months before I take one. I want to be more clear about short term and particularly long term impacts. |

I want to thank you all of you who follow the safety measures because I’m seeing day after day how many irresponsible people are hiking here and there. There are things belonging to common sense that we were said at the beginning of the pandemic as to keep a distance that it seems impossible only because Christmas is coming. Today it’s 30th November, neither it’s still December. My good lord!
Here, in Madrid, the capital, the example of all the examples, a Christmas market was settled down. You can’t guess the crowd who attended. In this case, the order was given by the town hall. So. What can I ask to any citizen? Urgent, not only a vaccine for corona virus, one for Idiocy is ****ing needed. __________________ Social Anxiety and Depression. Cluster C traits. I’m in lockdown and the isolation is getting to me. There is only so much texting, housekeeping, positive self talk I can do. I want to be a good bipolar person in this situation but it’s hard.

Our health officials say we are having surge on top of a surge. I canceled my medical appointments. They weren't worth me risking my life. I do have to do blood work in a couple of weeks. That should go well. I'll just run in and then run out. People here have ignored the CDC guidelines. I don't understand that. Even my own family ignored the rules. I can't control them. But I do have control over how I choose to handle things.

I’m sorry, Deilla. I neither understand at this point in time, knowing what we already know about the virus, how some people could be so ignorant.
My sister’s in laws are an example. His father-in-law went to ****ing hunt poor animals with a bunch of people. One of them has the virus and now my sister’s father-in-law and his wife are positive. Why in the earth, there’s now, especially now, the need to go hunting poor animals in the country-side. I’m so upset!!!!! Think that the same stupid case is repeated ir multiply everywhere. We kept clapping doctors and nurses and other people who worked in emergency places but now we have this behaviour? Ironic! Oh, your kitty. Did you get her being checked by the vet? __________________ Social Anxiety and Depression. Cluster C traits. Trying to improve my English. My apologies for errors and mistakes in advance. People here have started questioning the medical guidelines and stopped clapping for the doctors and nurses. They now are suspicious and ornery. Americans are not the most other focused group and asking Americans to wear mask and follow social distancing for a year is just too much. My state is surrounded by other states that have less restrictions or none at all so people here get fed up and drive to the other states to go to movies and bars, they then come back here and use medical resources. selfish and entitled is what it is.

Wow, Nammu, that sounds really irresponsible. I have a covidiot cousin in the US that's always posting social media photos of her traveling and going to bars. Of course she complains about masks too. You can guess whose flags and yard signs were decorating her house around election time.
We are still in phase 4 here in my municipality (initial opening). There are currently 22 known active cases per 100,000. Things like indoor dining and theaters are now open but at 50% capacity. My life still hasn't changed much since my husband and I are still being cautious. I don't feel comfortable going out to eat. But at least we don't need permits and we can deal with things like getting the car inspected and buying plants for my gardening projects. |

I just want to send my thanks to all of you and let you know I am thinking of you all. For me this thread is a source of strength and support. I think is wonderful that so many of you are from so many different countries and we are sharing our stories.
In the UK where I live there were many people ignoring the rules or bending them, it is dispiriting and personally I feel irresponsible inconsistent governance had a lot to do with it. We need good leaders who give clear messages! Anyhow I do feel lockdown 2 has reminded people what we are dealing with. The rate where I live in is now 200 something per 100,000 It was over 500 before lockdown. This virus is a social disease and responds to social measures. Just hoping for a safe and swift roll out of the vaccines for those who are able to take It, hopefully enough of us will have the shot for herd immunity to protect those that can't. |

Thanks. Yes, it is better. I hope it keeps up. I was looking at the latest detailed report from the government. Most places in the north and center of the country aren't so bad. The south is still having problems, though. Biobío region has 132.2 active cases per 100,000, Los Ríos 151.3, Los Lagos 136.6 and Magallanes, the farthest south region, is the worst with 324.1.
I guess if there is a positive that I have seen here, is that it hasn't ever really hit the whole country hard at once. I read in the US, that with previous waves, they were able to move patients to areas with more open beds or move medical staff around to worse areas. However, right now, so many places are hard hit, that's not an option in many cases. We had the worst of it in the Metropolitan Region in May, which is when they locked us down. The ICUs were at capacity. However, other areas did have ICU space, so they were able to do medical transport flights and take people to the areas where there were available beds. Now, I have heard that they may have to send people from overloaded hospitals in the south to the Metropolitan Region. |
