Some people can be so rude and uncaring.I went to see my shrink yesterday the reception I got from the secretaries was awful.Ok she thought her **** didnt stink for one thin.Needless to say her personality stunk. While taking my blood pressure I was telling her about my accident where i fell and broke to bones in my body so what did she say or do nothing not a word, she wouldnt even look at me.I had an anxiety attack in the waiting room i was suppose to be picked up the woman didnt pick up the phone so when i asked her what they said she snapped at me they got mad because i was yelling not even really yelling i was having a panic attack. Now if one wasnt bad enough i had to deal with two of them. They asked me what my problem was.Not in a very nice way either. So as usual i had to tell them i am having an attack you would think that they would understand..They were nothing but a bunch of snobs. Then they told me to move away from the window so that people could sign in i was away from it for crying out loud I had a wheelchair what did they expect me to move like lightening speed?WHen u are counting on something to pick up and they get no answer on the phone of course u would get upsetOh by the way the waiting room was empty so much for someone to sign in.LIke i said i have no use for doctors. These woman need a lesson in kindness.I havent been feeling well i got very bad allergies but i did get my shrink ot order me some allergy pills but i can only get them once there is no way I will go to the primary doctor of mine. Now I got two yeast infections a canker sore and a awful attack of arhritis in my back it is very painfull.I ma not suppose to have any stress .I got heart desease i mean how much more can I take? I need my mes today they better bring them because i cannot wait until tomorrow i am breaking my pills an half now I am sick of everything.Nobody gives a damn about someone have anxieties no one.

I hope you told you shrink how you felt.
People in that office need to know how to calm and comfort someone in distress. End of. Don't believe that no one cares, many people have severe anxiety complicated by health problems and there are people who care and can help. __________________ "...don't say Home / the bones of that word mend slowly...' marie harris |

In one facility where I was, among other things, the staff development nurse, it took me a year to convince the director of nursing that we needed an all day workshop on dementia. We had a unit and only a couple of the staff had any background, training or knowledge about dementia, was finally able to get this training in when I found a corporate claim, in writing, that the staff all had 8hr of training in working with people with dementia. Anyway, using the staff on the unit and others, we put on a training that was not only needed but turned out to be so popular that other facilities asked if we would do it for them. (just about then the facility changed hands and everything stopped...). Also, frankly, most rehab/long term care facilities are inadequately staffed and the direct care workers are sometimes paid so little that they can work full time and still qualify for benefits (eg section 8 housing/food stamps) so they are already stressed out when they get to work & the facility is not providing support to staff (& therefore to patients/residents).
